The state and problems of formation of the Ukrainian national information space are analysed. It is found that the national information space is an important factor in ensuring the information security of the State and the formation of national identity, especially in times of war. It should be based on objective information, a high-quality national information product in the State language, and a culture of diversity. The author proves the importance of ensuring the dominance of the Ukrainian language in the information space of Ukraine as a consolidating component of Ukrainian society. It is determined that the development and adoption of the Law of Ukraine "On the National Information Space", improvement of legislative regulation of the information sphere in accordance with current threats to national security, stimulation of the development of national production of textual and audiovisual content, and creation of a system of broadcasting in the State language in territorial communities are relevant in the process of formation of the Ukrainian information space
