Assessment of qualifications of doctors as a tool for quality management of medical aid in Ukraine

Hretta Hukova-Kushnir
Abstract

The mechanism of attestation of doctors is analyzed. A comparative characterization of the legislative framework regulating the attestation of doctors is made. It is found that attestation, which in essence should be an assessment of theoretical knowledge and practical skills of a doctor, in practice is only a submission of documents confirming the points of continuous professional development. The author proposes a comprehensive approach in the form of raising the requirements for doctors undergoing certification, taking into account complaints received by doctors during their professional activities, and creating a mechanism for downgrading and depriving doctors of their qualification categories and specialist certificates
